SPOILERS AHEAD! YE BE WARNED!
All-New All-Different Point One 001 introduces us to Marvel Comic’s new story arc Contest of Champions and some of the new comics coming out this year. Let’s start with Contest of Champions (out October 2015).
- Contest of Champions (Oct. 2015) – The comic opens with a very much older Hulk, aka The Maestro, contemplating his choices for the Contest of Champions. He is partnered with the Collector, one of the Elders of the Universe, and they must defeat the Collector’s brother by selecting 5 champions to duel in the cosmic arena that once was Battlerealm. It is a battle to the death (for the Champions) and the losing player forfeits the contest. During their cosmic channel flipping through the multiverse they observe Rocket Raccoon and Groot, Carnage, the S.H.I.E.L.D. files and team, the new Inhumans team, and a guy that invented an invisibility suit that later teams up with Daredevil (who can totally see him with his super senses). The Maestro watches the battle between Stick and Venom. Stick wins, as does The Maestro-Collector Team. Who will they pick next? Who will win the mysterious prize? Who is their opponent? Join us October 2015 for the answers when Contest of Champions issue #1 comes out!
- Carnage (Nov. 2015) – In a world where Venom, aka Eddie Brock, managed to kill his Peter Parker (Spider-Man) a new evil emerged. Venom become an ever hungry monster known as Carnage. He devours someone new each night and authorities have called in the big guns, Colonel John Jameson, to stop Carnage once and for all. Will he be able to with his sonic-gun invention? Find out November 2015 when the new Carnage issue #1 comes out in your local comic book store!
- Daredevil (Dec. 2015) – Meet Samuel Chung, a janitor and genius, who built an invisibility suit in his spare time. His sister bugs him about getting a real job and going to college to make something of himself, but little does she know he spends his nights testing out his new suit in the hopes of meeting a real super hero. Who does he run into? Daredevil. The only man on Earth that can “see” through his invisibility suit. Lucky for Sam, because in his excitement he fell off the top of the building and Daredevil caught him. What will Daredevil make of this new guy and his invisibility suit? Find out right here December 2015!
- All-New Inhumans (Dec. 2015) – A Terrigen Cloud rolls over a plane bound for Miami and begins to mutate one of the passengers on board. The Army calls in Crystal Amaquelin to help handle the new Inhuman. We see an old man on the ground, terrified. He exclaims he is really 23 years old. We quickly see his power, the ability to drain life from those around him. Happily, he has the ability to give it back too. One more person added to the Inhumans roster. To see more Inhumans touched by the Terrigen Cloud, check out the All-New Inhumans December 2015 at your local comic book store.
- Rocket Raccoon & Groot (Jan. 2016) – Rocket and Groot are on Earth looking for a Bounty that is posing as a Trick or Treater on Halloween (the one in the Frankenstein mask). They chase the Bounty to a cemetery and find themselves surrounded by his mind controlled minions, who quickly open fire on Rocket and Groot. They decide to run away to fight another day. What will happen to our duo? Check back January 2016 for Rocket Raccoon & Groot #1.
- Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Jan. 2015) – The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are infiltrating a black market weapons deal held by Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, former Supreme Hydra. The team containing Bobbi Morse Barton (aka Mockingbird), Henry Hayes (aka Deathlok), and Daisy Johnson (aka Quake) are battling Georges Batroc, a mercenary for hire meant to attend the auction. Melinda May (aka The Cavalry), Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz support them from the Bus. Meanwhile, Phil Coulson disguised as Batroc attends the auction and wins the bid. We get a glimpse of Fitz talking to some unknown person on the phone saying, “They don’t suspect a thing.” Is Fitz a traitor? What happened to make him turn? Who was he talking to on the phone?
