The Game Awards 2017 Nominees Revealed
The Game Awards 2017 announced its list of nominees on Tuesday. The nominees include Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, as well as Atlus’ Persona 5 as nominees for Game of the Year. Other nominees from Japanese game franchises, or developed or published by Japanese companies, include:

· Best Mobile Game: Fire Emblem Heroes (Intelligent Systems), Super Mario Run (Nintendo)
· Best Handheld Game: Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World (Good-Feel), Monster Hunter Stories (Marvelous), Metroid: Samus Returns (MercurySteam), Ever Oasis (Grezzo), Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (Intelligent Systems)
· Best VR/AR Game: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (CAPCOM)
· Best Action Game: Nioh (Team Ninja)

· Most Anticipated Game: Monster Hunter: World (CAPCOM)
Last year, Pokémon Go won the categories of Best Family Game and Best Mobile/Handheld Game. Rez Infinite won Best VR Game, and Street Fighter V took home the award for Best Fighting Game. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, received the award for Most Anticipated Game.
