Super Mario Run
Super Mario Run is a side-scrolling, endless runner video game developed and published by Nintendo for Android and iOS devices. It was released for iOS in December 2016 and for Android in March 2017. The game represents one of Nintendo’s first games developed for mobile devices, and one of the few instances that a game in the Mario series was officially released on non-Nintendo hardware.
Recently I decided to install SMR on my phone and see what all the hype was all about and to be honest I was a bit underwhelmed.
The graphics are absolutely spot on and what one would expect from Nintendo in a Mario game.I didn’t like that Mario would automatically run to the right, which means that if you miss a coin or block, going back can be difficult.
I also disliked the controls. I did’t like just mindlessly jabbing at my screen to make Mario jump. between this and hte autorun, I never felt like I was ever actually in control of my character.
Super Mario run is a fair game, but the few issues I noted make me not want to ppay my hard earned money to unlock the rest of the game (only the first world is available for free.)
