SNES Test Program

The SNES Test Program is one of around four discovered cartridges once used by Nintendo World Class Service to test and diagnose problems with the SNES and controllers (the SNES Burn-In Test Cart being another).

While the main menu is dated 1991, the inclusion of functionality for the Super Scope and SNES Mouse, plus a hidden message, date this build to no earlier than July 29, 1992.

I recently came accross a ROM dump of this cart recently. I fired up my SNES emulator and gave it a run. Was not surprised to find that the emulator passed all the tests the SNES Test Program ran. The SNES Test Program cart is not somthing you would come across everyday, but if our a SNES collector it is worth the addition to your collection, however most casual and retro games can probaly just pass on it. It was deffanaty fun to play with the SNES Test Program however.
