Crayon Shin Chan Review

Shin Chan is one of my favorite Anime. It makes me giggle. What can I say? The children are so dirty and talk about topics they have no business knowing about… so funny! I have been watching it on Anime Here, which allows you to watch lots of Anime for free. English dubbed and subbed are available.

Crayon Shin-chan (クレヨンしんちゃん Kureyon Shin-chan?) (also known as Shin Chan in some countries), is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshito Usui. It follows the adventures of the five-year-old Shinnosuke “Shin” Nohara and his parents, baby sister, dog, neighbours, and friends and is set in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture. An anime adaptation of the series began airing on TV Asahi in 1992, and continues to this day. The show has now been dubbed in Danish, English, Dutch, German, Greek, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Galician, Catalan, Basque, Polish, Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Hebrew, Telugu, Tamil, Tagalog, Indonesian, Malay, Khmer, Thai and Vietnamese.

Due to the death of author Usui, the manga in its current form ended on September 11, 2009, as announced in a broadcast of the anime on October 16, 2009. Although the series formally ended on February 5, 2010, it was announced on December 1, 2009 that a new manga would begin in the summer of 2010 by members of Usui’s team.,[1] titled New Crayon Shin-chan (新クレヨンしんちゃん Shin Kureyon Shin-chan?). – Wikipedia Crayon Shin Chan

I love Shin Chan! When Jedite introduced me to AnimeHere the first Anime I searched for was Crayon Shin Chan. I have only seen the English Dubbed, but this is one Anime for which I break my “Subbed not Dubbed” rule. Shin Chan is about a little boy named Shin Nohara, his dysfunctional family, and even more dysfunctional friends. He is foul-mouthed and all the children talk about topics they have no business knowing about. He is crude, rude, and often nude. I am so happy they are bringing it back! Ass-dance all around!!

They made an episode parodying Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back which was just… so… wrong! I laughed so hard. It was great. Well worth a watch. Very dirty though. Most every Shin Chan episode is pretty dirty.

I like the episodes where they are living in Falling Apartments best of all. More interaction with their crazy neighbors than when they are living in their house, which Shin blows up causing them to move to the apartment. My favorite of their neighbors are Yumi and Yanro. Yumi is a struggling actress who REALLY gets into her roles. She is kind of crazy, more so than the rest of the cast. Yanro is a future drop-out once he makes it into college. Kasukabe Tech is where he is trying to enroll, but he has to pass their entrance exam. He is on his fourth try. I hope the new series brings them back. Or maybe tosses the Nohara family back into Falling Apartments. The final episode ends with Shin winning a sword fighting tournament. A really abrupt end to the series, but that is understandable when the creator passes on.
