On the 7th Day until Christmas, we are watching:
A Charlie Brown Christmas, a holiday classic. Usually, I stay away from movies with religious undertones, but I let this one pass. I like how it addresses depression around the holidays and how some are becoming disillusioned by the mass-consumerism of the season. I love that the focus gets put on showing love. There is Linus’ monologue of the story of the Nativity, but the message you can take away from this that isn’t about the religious aspect of his speech is peace on Earth and good will toward men. Be kind and love your fellow man, woman, child, etc. I love how Charlie Brown takes that message and says he wont let commercialism ruin his Christmas. Very sweet. I wish more holiday movies for children would emphasise presents are the reason for the season. Peace, love, and joy and being with those you love are the reason.
